Alex, 8 Year Old Cancer Patient and Fundraiser, Died
I’ve just been reading some stories about Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who passed away at her home on Sunday, at the age of 8. Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was not quite one year old. When she was 4, she got the idea to raise money for cancer treatment through a Lemonade Stand and the idea took. Through the last four years she has raised over $900,000 to support cancer hospitals. Take a moment and think about what she did with her eight short years, then stop by her Lemonade Stand and donate some money to cancer, or donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation which supports cancer research and survivor issues, or start your own fundraising effort.
There is a story at CNN and an interview with her parents at a local NBC affiliate that I thought were interesting.

It’s good to know that a cancer patient like Alex didn’t lose hope. She had made a significant contribution to other people who are like her, a cancer victim, by raising fund up to $3,000,000. Indeed, even a child can make a difference.
