Riding for Roses

Austin is getting ready for the Tour de France. Tour Watch 2005 is at Central Market every riding day during the Tour de France from 8 AM to 9 PM. It will include Tour watching, interviews with local folks, remote feeds from France, podcasting, 24 Hour Fitness excitement, Trek drink tastings, and a Lance Armstrong Foundation table. At the LAF table we’ll have cancer survivorship information and opportunities to donate to support cancer survivors – Spencer will be there on the weekends during the day and I’ll be at the table as much as I can during the week. We’ll up staffing if activity merits. On July 2, a Discovery Channel crew will be filming Austin Lance fans as they appear to cheer for Lance and the Discovery Team during the Tour de France prologue. For Tour de France and Lance fans, this is going to be an awesome chance to watch. We have two 61 inch HD TV screens and will have the Tour on in the morning with replays at noon and 7 PM. On the second screen and during other hours, we’ll be playing interviews with Lance fans, cancer survivors, and whoever will talk with us. Austin Podcasting Network will have local podcasters there with a booth. There will be opportunities to be interviewed for the screen or a podcast and technology assistance to help you create your own podcast.
