It’s a Grind Raffle for Cancer Survivors

My favorite coffee shop near my house is It’s a Grind – Plaza Volente (at 11521 N. FM 620, #940; Austin, TX in Plaza Volente at the intersection of Anderson Mill and 620) and the owners have generously put together a raffle to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Spencer’s fundraising. Donate $5 to the LAF and you receive a ridiculous set of immediate rewards (a LiveStrong wrist band, 10% off an order, $5 off a pound of coffee, $4 off a mug sold at the store) and a chance to win prizes. The full list of prizes has not been announced, but it will include discounts and merchandise from some of the Plaza Volente businesses, with some special prizes still in the works. All of the proceeds go directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation supporting Spencer’s Peloton Project effort to raise $25,000. You can also donate to support cancer survivors and Spencer’s Ride for the Roses.

If you live in, or find youself visiting, far northwest Austin and Cedar Park, please stop by It’s a Grind, buy yourself a coffee, buy a raffle ticket (or ten), and say “thank you” to the great folks at It’s a Grind for supporting cancer survivors.

I’ll say thank you over here, even I’m not in Austin. As a cancer survivor I admire Lance Armstrong and I feel a deep gratetude to people who donate money for this cause to make a difference.
