Best Tour de France Viewing Party in Austin

It’s this simple: The Tour Watch 2005 event at Central Market North is the best Tour de France viewing party in Austin, TX. It’s true. My new friend Stephen says so. He visited every single Tour watching party at least once at says this one is the best.

Why is it the best?

  • Family Friendly
  • Two 61” screens playing the action
  • Fun patio environment (indoor viewing in case of rain)
  • Good food
  • Sponsors give away free stuff (Lance Fans, stickers, Trek sports drink, and who knows what else)
  • Spencer will be there from about 8-11 both days
  • Over 250 LiveStrong wrist bands available for donors

Come on down between 7:30 and 10:30 on Saturday or 6:30 and 11:00 on Sunday and find out for yourself. While you are there, look for the bald kid in the Discovery Team jersey with all the wrist bands. That’s my son Spencer, currently in remission from leukemia, and if you give him a donation for the Lance Armstrong Foundation you get wrist band.

The LAF website doesn’t allow you to leave comments when you give a donation, but I wanted to send a note to thank you for your updates during the Tour. I read them all, but haven’t commented before now. Melissa and I have a son, Jackson, who’s 4, and so our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. If there’s anything that we can to do help, please let us know. David Smith, President, First UU Church of Austin.
