Lance Armstrong 10/2 Events in Austin

October 2 is the 9th anniversary of Lance Armstrong’s diagnosis with testicular cancer. Lance is a funny guy. He likes to celebrate it. Sheryl thinks that’s cool, so they’re throwing a free concert for Austin at Auditorium Shores. Doors open at 4 PM, concert is supposed to run from 5-7 if you believe in schedules. Lance will also be welcoming some of the riders from the Tour of Hope who will be in town to start their leg of the cross country relay to raise awareness of cancer clinical trials. Rumor has it that Lance will also be reading a proclamation to the City of Austin.

Before the concert, there is a fundraising cycling class at Pure Austin (call (512) 474-1800 for information and to register – limited spots available, all participants receive a few LiveStrong wrist band and two coupons for coffee at Austin locations of It’s a Grind coffeee shop).

The Tour of Hope is coming through Austin Monday early morning. The official Austin Rally for the Tour is the Sheryl Crow concerts. Interested and hardy supports of cancer clinical trial research are also invited to the Austin Transition which will be at approximately 3:45 AM on Monday, October 3, on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol.
